Terms of the deal, which was first announced in April, were not disclosed.

FNS’ capabilities include information technology and data security solutions, systems integration and communication with a focus on supporting the intelligence community, the Defense Department, and federal civilian customers. FNS has more than 750 employees.

“We expect this acquisition to significantly enhance our capability in the growing intelligence community industry by augmenting our current service offerings in mission critical infrastructure design and commissioning, security facility maintenance and operations, telecommunications and information technology solutions, and mission operations,” Robert Norfleet, Jacobs Group vice president, said in a statement.

Verizon, which is maintaining its public sector business, said the sale is part of its ongoing efforts to focus enterprise service activities for the public sector market and align them with its wireless, broadband and global IP strategy.
