The State Department approved a possible $395 million Foreign Military Sale (FMS) request to Iraq for various ammunition and associated equipment, parts, and logistical support.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the potential sale on Tuesday.

The primary contractors would be American Ordinance and AMTEC.

The requested FMS would include 5,000 81mm High Explosive Mortar Ammunition, 684,000 M203 40mm High Explosive Ammunition, 532,000 MK19 40mm High Explosive Dual Purpose Ammunition, and 40,000 155mm High Explosives.

The sale also includes small arms ammunition, spare and repair parts, support equipment, publications and technical documentation, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor technical and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support.

Implementation of the FMS would not require additional U.S. government or contractor representatives to be assigned to Iraq.
