The City of London Police is responsible for law enforcement inside the official City of London Corporation, a separate locality from greater metropolitan London. While currently primarily greater London’s financial and business district, the City of London originates in Roman times and has a unique governing relationship with the national government separate from the metropolitan London institutions.
