Intellicheck Mobilisa [IDN] says its IM2700 handheld reader has completed the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Initial Capability Evaluation (ICE) demonstrations and has been placed on the ICE product list. The IM2700 can access ID card information via several methods including 1D and 2D barcodes, magnetic stripe, smart ship, proximity or radio frequency identification, and fingerprints. The nation’s ports will use the TWIC reader list being assembled by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to select products for evaluation to meet access control requirements under TWIC. TSA has yet to publish an approved TWIC reader list.
