Next-Generation Jammer (NGJ)
IN A NUTSHELL...(Back to Top)
The Next-Generation Jammer is a Navy project to develop a jamming pod that will be used by the EA-18G Growler and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter -- and possibly other systems, such as UCLASS -- to provide airborne electronic attack and jamming capabilities that can deal with increasingly complex threats, while also delivering higher reliability. The Navy outlined requirements for the system in 2008, and selected Raytheon in 2013 to build NGJ, which will replace legacy ALQ-99 systems used in the fleet today.
