UAV Solutions, Inc. delivered four Phoenix 30 Quad Rotor Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to Romania as part of a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contract award from the Army, the company said Monday.

The Phoenix UAS is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unit that weighs about 14 pounds and carries a maximum two-pound payload. It does not require assembly and can be deployed within minutes, UAV Solutions said.

The Phoenix has a 30- to 35-minute long endurance depending on the mission profile and can fly in up to 25 knot gusts and up to an inch-an-hour of rain. The unit’s maximum speed is 24 knots with a cruise speed of 15.5 knots. It is typically operated at altitudes ranging from 50-500 feet above ground and up to 10,000 feet above sea level, the company said.

The FMS to Romania included the UAVS Dragon View combined electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) stabilized camera sensor, a ground control system, applicable spares, and ground support equipment.
