Vice President, Open Combat Solutions Business
Carlo Zaffanella is vice president for the Open Combat Solutions business of the Mission Integration Systems division at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Mission Integration Systems develops, produces, engineers and integrates highly reliable, open architecture solutions for airborne, shipboard and mission systems. The Open Combat Solutions business applies an open architecture approach combined with an open business model to provide the Surface Navy with the most capable, affordable and flexible surface system solutions. In addition, the Open Combat Solutions business develops, manufactures, installs and supports high-reliability, systems for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and numerous other federal agencies.
Prior to this position, Zaffanella was director of the Core Mission Integration business area. Core Mission Integration develops, produces, engineers and integrates highly reliable, open architecture solutions for mission systems.
Zaffanella received his master's degree in electrical engineering from Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute, and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
