Michael R. Twyman is vice president for the Integrated Command, Control,
Communications and Intelligence (C3I) Systems business unit of Northrop
Grumman’s Information Systems sector. Mr. Twyman manages 1,500 employees
and revenues in excess of $600 million. The business unit provides net-enabled
strategic and operational C2 systems, command centers, force protection systems,
decision support applications, integrated logistics systems and situational
awareness solutions for warfighters and first-responders worldwide, including the
Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, U.S. Coast Guard and Joint Services.

Previously, Mr. Twyman led the company’s Integrated C3I Systems organization within the Mission
Systems sector, which realigned in January 2009 to become the Information Systems sector.
Prior to his service with Integrated C3I Systems, Mr. Twyman served as vice president of the
company’s Joint Network Systems operating unit, where his responsibilities included providing
interoperable network solutions for airborne, maritime, land and homeland defense systems. In
2006, Mr. Twyman became vice president and deputy general manager of the Communication and
Systems Technology operating unit. He managed $350 million in business, providing joint and
coalition network and communication solutions. In 2002, Mr. Twyman served as vice president of
Northrop Grumman’s Communication and Information Systems business unit. He maintained
oversight of Northrop Grumman’s strategic efforts for joint network management, common tactical
network processing and battlefield airborne communication network systems.

Mr. Twyman joined Logicon (which was acquired by Northrop Grumman) in 1983 as a software
engineer. From 1985 through 1999, he progressed through a number of project, department and
division management positions delivering next generation command, control, communications and
computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions to strategic, tactical,
mobility and special operations customers. He also led several advanced C2 technology
development and insertion programs for DARPA, Air Force Research Laboratory and the U.S. Navy
TENCAP office.

In 1999, Mr. Twyman was promoted to marketing and technology development manager with
responsibility for leading business and technology development efforts for joint battle management,
mission planning, missile defense and state and local government information technology programs.
In 2000, he was promoted to director of communication and information systems.

Mr. Twyman has served on a number of advanced technology panels, including DARPA’s effectsbased
operations and enterprise workflow management panels, and is frequently a keynote speaker
on joint airborne networks and Net-Centric Solutions. He is a member of International Datalink
Society (IDLS), NDIA and AFCEA. Locally, Mr. Twyman is a member of the San Diego, Calif.,
Educational Roundtable where he supports development of best-in-class elementary school
educational practices to improve education. He also supports local charities including a child
development center for abused families in the San Diego, Calif., area.

Mr. Twyman was born in Lakewood, Calif. He earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics
and physics from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Business Administration
from George Mason University in Virginia. He has completed an executive marketing program at
University of California, Los Angeles, and several leadership development programs including
Northrop Grumman’s Lead1NG.
