Mr. Mark K. Iden
Defense Energy Support Center
Deputy Director Operations
Mr. Mark K. Iden assumed his current duties as the Deputy Director Operations for the Defense Energy Support Center in April 2007. In this assignment, Mr. Iden is responsible for all of the DESC Buying Units managing acquisition programs that exceed $15 billion in annual sales. In addition, Mr. Iden oversees the management of acquisition programs and the field-level execution for end-to-end Class III supply chain support of U.S. and coalition forces in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Iden served as the Director for the DESC Direct Delivery Fuels office from June 2006 to April 2007 after graduating from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Mr. Iden served as the Director of the DESC Executive Agent Office from December 2004 until August 2005 after serving a four-month detail to Headquarters Defense Logistics Agency where he worked in the Supply Chain Integration and Management Office. He served alternately as the Deputy Director and Director of DESC's Bulk Fuels Business Unit from December 2000 until August 2004.
Mr. Iden has also served in a variety of other positions within DESC/DFSC since 1981, including two overseas assignments with DESC’s European Regional Headquarters.
