The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected three companies to compete for a potential $172 million over five years to provide tactical infrastructure in the Border Patrol’s Laredo Sector located in southwest and northeast Texas. The three companies are Environmental Chemical Corp., Kiewit Texas Construction, L.P., and Weston Solutions. The contract, which is administered by the Army Corps of Engineers, contains one base year and four one-year options. In October DHS awarded $488 million in potential contracts to four firms, including the three that just received contracts for the Laredo Sector, for tactical infrastructure projects in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
