The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Service Provider program awarded CSRA Inc. [CSRA] a $114 million task order for cybersecurity services, the company said Thursday.
The order calls on CSRA to develop and deploy an in-depth security network strategy to deter and neutralize malicious activities for various Pentagon offices. It was awarded under the Chief information Officer-Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) contract vehicle and has a performance period of over four and a half years.
The order will have CSRA protect government networks by blocking, detecting, reacting to, and responding to network incidents. It will also leverage tactics, techniques, and procedures to prevent future incidents from occurring.
The contracted work also will have CSRA work with U.S. Cyber Command and other government agencies to provide situational awareness about incidents and potential network threats.
“While having the right technology in place is a critical element of a successful cybersecurity plan, we’ve found that developing and deploying a comprehensive network strategy, and collaborating with other parts of the government, is equally as important and needed to defend an organization’s IT system effectively,” Ken Deutsch, executive vice president at CSRA in the defense group, said in a statement.
