Computer Sciences Corp. [CSC] said yesterday it has established a virtual cyber security center that will allow it and its government and commercial customers to simulate current and future cyber environments, threats and security solutions.

The new center will be composed of the company’s Maryland-based Innovation Laboratory, and its Virginia-based Infrastructure Laboratory and Service Oriented Architecture Center of Excellence.

“This new virtual facility will allow our customers to witness threats and see how effectively our programs engage to block potentially devastating intrusions,” James Sheaffer, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector, said in a statement.

CSC says its capabilities in cyber security include secure architecture, training and computer emergency response team. CSC says it also provides and teaches the forensics curriculum at the Defense Computer Investigations Training Academy, which is the national training center for cyber forensics.
