Detyens Shipyards Inc., North Charleston, South Carolina, is awarded an $11,753,763 firm-fixed-price contract for a 60-calendar day shipyard availability for the regular overhaul/dry-docking of USNS Laramie (T-AO 203). Work will include superstructure blast and paint, port side fixed port light repairs, deck steel replacement, starboard main engine 12,000-hour overhaul, fuel injector overhaul, main engine clutch- coupling overhaul, port power take-off clutch air control panel replacement, overhaul ships service diesel generator number 4, constant tension winch number 1, dry-docking and undocking, propeller system maintenance, overhauling sea valves, underwater hull cleaning and painting, stern tube seal maintenance and marine growth inhibitor anode replacement. The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total contract value to $12,161,073. Work will be performed in North Charleston, South Carolina, is expected to begin on March 30, 2019, and to be completed by May 28, 2019. Fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance (Navy) contract funds in the amount of $11,753,763 are obligated at the time of award. Funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
