TSA Plans $54M Award to SRA for Support Services

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to increase the ceiling value of a contract to SRA International by $53.5 million to provide additional monitoring services on the agency’s network. The ceiling value of the existing contract is being raised to $107 million. The award will address requirements of Independent Validation and Verification Testing Support Servics to the agency’s Security Operations Center (SOC) and infrastructure. The SOC provides continuous network security monitoring and incident response to the agency’s information technology infrastructure. The SOC’s primary functions are to collect and analyze system and network logs and events from the security infrastructure, identify, confirm and report security events and incidents, manage and coordinate end-to-end security events and incidents response, and assess IT infrastructure vulnerabilities, recommend actions, and monitor progress and compliance against plan of actions and milestones.

DHS Awards Small Firm $7M for HSIN Support Services

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded JAVA Productions, Inc., a potential two-year $7.1 million contract to provide support services to the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) program. The award has a base-year and one one-year option. JAVA, a Virginia-based historically underutilized business zone contractor, will provide the Office of Operations, Coordination and Planning program administration and management, program operations support, requirements administration and management support, test and evaluation support, and portal consolidation and other tasks.

Magal Receives Nearly $5M in New Orders

Magal S3 [MAGS] says it has recently received $4.5 million in new orders for various homeland security applications, most of which are from the company’s existing customers. One order is for a smart perimeter intrusion detection system solution for a prison in Latin America while the rest of the orders, including one for a safe city solution, are for homeland security applications in Israel. “It is clear that our continuous commitment to achieving customers’ satisfaction is a key factor in our continued success in obtaining follow-up orders,” says Eitan Livneh, president and CEO of Magal S3.

AS&E Receives ZBV Order from Lat Am Country

American Science and Engineering [ASEI] has received a $2.5 million contract from a customer in Latin America for ZBV R-Class X-Ray screening systems, which is a ruggedized system built for harsh terrain. This is AS&E’s first order from this country, which isn’t being disclosed.

Implant Announces Orders from Africa, London

Implant Sciences [IMSC] says it has sold 25 Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 handheld explosives trace detectors for use to protect government buildings in Africa from terrorist threats. “We are very pleased with the increasing traction we are experiencing in the African market,” says Glenn Bolduc, Implant’s president and CEO. “We believe Africa has the potential to generate substantial additional sales for Implant Sciences in the near future.” Separately, the company says it has sold units of its QS-H150 for use at a major public sporting event in London.
