CBP Awards CACI $35M for Support AMOSS
CACI International [CACI] has received a four-year $34.5 million task order from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to continue providing technology updates and operations and maintenance to the agency’s Air and Marine Operations Surveillance System (AMOSS). The system is used by CBP’s Air and Marine Operations Center to provide a real-time air and marine surveillance picture of U.S. borders and a portion of the western hemisphere. AMOSS integrates data from radars and sensor to detect, identify and track suspicious air and maritime traffic. The system includes a display that is capable of tracking over 50,000 individual aircraft and watercraft, and is also used in helping to coordinate disaster response. “CACI’s expertise in developing sophisticated systems that integrate and display vast amounts of data from disparate sources enables our customers to predict and respond to incidents and threats in powerful new ways,” says John Mengucci, the company’s chief operating officer. The task order was awarded under the Department of Homeland Security’s EAGLE II contract vehicle.
CBP Places $7M Order with Smiths Detection for X-Ray Systems
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has awarded Smiths Detection $7.1 million in orders for the company’s HCVM e35 NA and ScanVan inspection systems. The HCVM e35 NA is a mobile system for inspecting trucks, containers and vehicles. The system includes software tools to enhance screening and can be used for finding contraband and threats such as explosives, narcotics, and weapons. The ScanVan is a small vehicle fitted with HI-SCAN 100100T X-Ray system for scanning objects such as cargo, strollers, boxes or electronics. It can be deployed wherever temporary high-security checkpoints are required.
DSA on JPEO-CBD $8M Research, Development and Acquisition Contract
Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA) has it has been awarded the Joint Program Executive Office Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD)-sponsored Joint Enterprise Research, Development, Acquisition, and Production/Procurement multiple award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. The program ceiling is $8.3 million across all task and delivery orders during the 10 year contract period. DSA will support research and development of CBRNE defense systems and equipment, along with material subject to the acquisition policies, procedures, and guidance of the “Operation with the Defense Acquisition System.”
USCIS Awards WidePoint $4M for Wireless Managed Services
WidePoint Corp. [WYY] has received a $4.4 million task order from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to provide cellular wireless managed services to the agency. The task order was made through the Department of Homeland Security Cellular Wireless Management Services Blanket Purchase Agreement. WidePoint was the incumbent for the work.
Magal Receives $8M Award for Integrated Security Solutions
Magal Security Systems, Ltd. [MAGS] says it has received an $8 million contract to provide integrated security solutions for several critical energy infrastructure sites in the coming months. The customer wasn’t disclosed. Magal will supply its video management system along with video analytics, FiberPatrol fiber optic point reporting intrusion detection system, a cyber security solution, and the Fortis4G physical security information management system.
CBP Awards GD RVSS Contract for San Diego Sector
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has awarded General Dynamics [GD] an eight month contract modification for a relocatable Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) deployment in the Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector. The value of the modification wasn’t disclosed. The award includes eight months of maintenance. The RVSS systems, which are deployed in certain locations along the northern and southern borders, provide the Border Patrol with surveillance technology using day and night cameras. Prior to the modification, the value of GD’s RVSS contract was $117.4 million. The RVSS system for the San Diego Sector is a temporary deployment during construction of border wall in the area. CBP says that after the deployment, the system will be relocated to the Rio Grande Valley sector to support other RVSS deployments there.
National Guard Orders Bruker Hand-Held Chemical Detectors
Bruker has received a contract from the National Guard for 133 RAID M-100 hand-held chemical detectors. The company says deliveries will be completed by the end of March 2018. The detectors upgrade and enhance the capabilities of the National Guard Homeland Response Force and of the CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package. The RAID M-100s are already in service with the National Guard’s Civil Support Teams. The value of the award wasn’t disclosed.
