Peraton Nabs $578 Million TSA Logistics Contract For Security Equipment

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded Peraton a potential five-year $578 million contract to provide logistics support for the agency’s thousands of pieces of security equipment used at airports nationwide. Leidos [LDOS] was the incumbent contractor. Boeing [BA] and Germany’s Siemens in years past have provided integrated logistics support to TSA for transportation screening equipment. “We’re proud to have once again been called upon to assist the Department of Homeland Security in its mission of safeguarding the nation, and we eagerly accept the high standards and accountability required by TSA,” Stu Shea, CEO of Peraton, said in a statement on Thursday. Shea previously was the chief operating officer of Leidos. Peraton, based in Northern Virginia, supports customers in the space, intelligence, defense and homeland security markets.

TSA Awards Dun & Bradstreet $41M for Business Entity Verification Services

Dun & Bradstreet has received a potential five-year, $40.7 million follow-on contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to continue providing Business Entity Verification Services (BEVS) in support of the agency’s air cargo security mission. The value for the first year of the contract is $7.8 million. The BEVS provide real-time, validated business information that allows TSA and industry participants in the air cargo supply chain to conduct risk analysis and mitigation. The services are an essential element of the Known Shipper Management System, which is important for air carriers and freight forwarders.

Rapiscan Nabs $37M in Orders for Inspection Systems

OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received a $37 million in new orders for its inspection systems. An airport customer in Panama made a $16 million order for multiple security inspection systems, including the RTT 110 explosive detection system for screening checked baggage and the 620DV checkpoint screening system for carry-on bags. The RTT award is the first for the company in Latin America. The system has a solid state gantry for 3-D imaging. The contract includes follow-on service and support. The company also received a $21 million order from an international customs agency for multiple Eagle G60 gantry-based X-Ray cargo and vehicle inspection systems. The order includes a multi-year service agreement for integration and follow-on maintenance and support.

Navy Awards Saab $119M for Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Cutter Radar

Saab has received a potential $118.5 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide the Sea Giraffe Agile Multi-Beam, Multi-Mode Radar for deployment on the U.S. Coast Guard’s Offshore Patrol Cutter class of ships. The initial award is for two systems and the contract includes options for additional radars for a total potential value of $118.5 million. The Sea Giraffe is a 3-D, electronically scanned phased array radar and provides simultaneous sea to sky coverage.

TSA Extending ETD Contracts with L3, Smiths

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded one-year contract extensions to L3 Technologies [LLL] and Smiths Detection so that it can continue to order explosive trace detectors (ETDs) and transition to new contracts. The contract modification extends the companies’ existing five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts until Sept. 30, 2018. The extensions support requirements for checkpoint screening operations.

CBP Awards Deloitte $8M to Support Imaging Systems

The consulting firm Deloitte has received a $7.7 million contract from Customs and Border Protection to provide support services for non-intrusive imaging equipment.
