CACI International [CACI] yesterday said it has agreed to acquire a small information technology (IT) firm with expertise in cyber security and application development that also has customers in the intelligence community.

Terms of the deal, which is expected to close by July 1, were not disclosed.

Pangia Technologies, which is based in Maryland, had $18.7 million in sales in 2010 and CACI expects the deal to be accretive to its earnings per share within one year of closing.

“The acquisition of Pangia Technologies opens new growth opportunities for CACI and increases our technical offerings in the vitally important area of cyber security,” Paul Cofoni, president and CEO of CACI, said in a statement. “Pangia’s technology and demonstrated success in solving some of the most difficult intelligence problems, combined with CACI’s significant presence in the intelligence community, will facilitate our expansion into emerging mission areas that are essential to national security.”

In addition to the intelligence community, Pangia has contract vehicles with the Department of Homeland Security, the Air Force and Navy.

Pangia’s core expertise is software engineering applied to application development, systems vulnerability auditing and threat analysis, intrusion detection engineering, system security architecture design and development, software development, and design, development and support for key systems through their life-cycle.

Pangia has 110 employees.
