TSA Plans RFP for Screening Services at San Francisco International Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in August plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for private screening services at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The agency says in a pre-solicitation notice that the services include comprehensive screening of passengers and personal property. The agency plans to award a five year contract that has a base-year and four option years. Covenant Aviation is currently providing private screening services at SFO under contract with TSA. Sol. Joint PEO-CBD Seeks Sources for Man-Portable Rad Detection System

The Joint Program Executive Officer for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) has issued a Request for Information from industry on its ability to develop and produce a Man-Portable Radiological Detection System (MRDS). The office’s Joint Project Manager for Radiological and Nuclear Defense will use the information to optimize an MRDS acquisition strategy. The goal of the MRDS program is to provide a networked system that a small team of CBRN and technical reconnaissance warfighters can transport and use quickly and easily to produce a site picture of radiological and nuclear hot spots and to facilitate definition of priority areas for follow-on tasks. TSA Issues Challenge to Design Next-Generation Queue for PreCheck

To adapt and support the expanding population of travelers that are using the PreCheck trusted traveler line at some of the nation’s airports, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a challenge for the Next Generation Checkpoint Queue Design Model to apply a scientific and simulation modeling approach to meet quest design and configuration needs of the dynamic security screening environment. In addition, the new design should include standard, premier passenger, employee and flight crews, and wheelchair access lines. DHS Plans Small Business Outreach Session in August
