CBP Plans Industry Day for Pre-Primary Inspection System

Customs and Border Protection plans to hold an Industry Day on Sept. 10 for vendors interested in the upcoming acquisition for Pre-Primary Inspection Systems. The location of the event will be provided once vendors register. The agency says it intends to deploy Non-Intrusive Inspection privately owned vehicle systems at land border crossings to inspect vehicles prior to them arriving at a primary inspection booth in an effort to increase its screening and interdiction capacity. CBP’s long-term goal is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of NII operations by expanding the use of automated tools and processes, and integrating multiple sensors, technologies and data platforms. The agency says it intends to perform testing and evaluation of proposed systems and complete a competitive procurement by the end of fiscal year 2019. CZBP expects to acquire single and multiple lane systems to be deployed at over 30 locations. Sol. No. 081318-3POVIS-IA. Respond by Aug. 31.
