TSA Solicits for Boarding Pass Scanners

The Transportation Security Administration has issued a solicitation for the purchase of Boarding Pass Scanners with plans for a single award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a five year ordering period. TSA says the contract is worth up to $9.8 million. The scanners will validate the authenticity of boarding passes and determine which screening lane passengers will be assigned based on their status designated within the 2D barcode on their boarding pass. FAA Soliciting for 10-Print Scanners for CBP

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on behalf of Customs and Border Protection, has issued a Request for Proposal for 10-print fingerprint scanners and ruggedized fingerprint scanners. CBP has a need to replace about 4,650 10-print scanners that are at the end of their useful life. The agency currently uses scanners provided by Crossmatch. The scanners are typically used at ports of entry to help process foreign travelers entering the U.S. In addition to the 10-print scanners, CBP has a requirement for 130 ruggedized scanners to be used in jump kits. Secret Service Issues RFI for Credential Data Personal Identification Information Collection

The U.S. Secret Service has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking vendors and candidates to collect personal identifying information of event applicants pursuant to government data security requirements and to create credentials with numerous security features to include RFID and or biometrics for large major events. The RFI says these events would require more than 30,000 credentials each. At the direction of the Secret Service, the vendor would collaborate and correspond with government and non-government organizations to create credential applicant software and supporting documentation to facilitate data retrieval, applicant name check formatting, credential production, and ultimate distribution. CBP Cancels RFI for Customer Relationship Management System

Customs and Border Protection issued, then canceled,  a Request for Information seeking industry feedback to identify sources capable of providing a customer service management system, including establishment of process and procedures to improve customer and client satisfaction with products and services of the agency’s Enterprise Services Office that are consistent with industry best practices and benchmarks against similar organizations. A customer relationship management system will provide real-time data to monitor, analyze, track and report resolution of customer questions and or issues and links all information utilizing a robust and centralized application.
