DHS S&T Issues New Cyber Security Call

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch has issued a new research and development solicitation for cyber security in a new research are called Predict, Assess Risk, Identify (and Migrate) Disruptive Internet-scale Network Events (PARIDINE). The project builds on the work of the Internet Measurement and Attack Modeling R&D effort and will be issued against a Broad Agency Announcement that was released in February.

TSA Issues RFI for Tech Refresh of Desktops and Laptops

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Information Technology intends to establish a contract vehicle for interagency buyers to procure tested and approved IT products using the agency’s IT configurations. TSA has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to share the technical refresh and updated specifications for the laptops and desktops at part of the government-wide strategic solutions for Desktops and Laptops initiated by the OIT. Air Force Seeks Sources for Cross Domain Technology

The Air Force has issued a Sources Sought notice related to innovative research, technology assessment, technology transition, software development, integration, testing, life-cycle support and more for next-generation Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and the Information Support Server Environment CDS suite of solutions. The primary effort will concentrate on innovative research, development, test and evaluation of new Cross Domain Transfer Solution technologies that provide a premier level of security to critical network infrastructures while allowing for an intuitive administration and user experience to meet the operational information sharing requirements of the Air Force, Defense Department, intelligence community, and coalition partners. State Department Seeks Small Vendors for Airport Security Pilot in Mexico

The U.S. Department of State has issued a Request for Information to obtain market research and identify small businesses capable of a security infrastructure program at airports in Mexico. The State Department ultimately seeks a vendor that can provide security and surveillance equipment and services using U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-certified equipment or equipment acceptable by TSA experts to upgrade eight major airports throughout Mexico. The security/surveillance equipment, which includes biometric doors and camera systems, must already be deemed acceptable by TSA experts and Mexico’s Directorate General Aeronautical Civil. The information is sought by the State Department’s Bureau of International Security Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. The vendor will act as the systems integrator for the entire project. Sol. TSA Seeks Integrated Logistics Support Services for Checkpoint Equipment

DHS Cyber Office Issues RFI for Analytic Support

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Cyber and Infrastructure Analysis has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for its requirement of an analytic capability for research, development, and analysis services to fulfill its mission. The OCIA provides analysis to homeland security decision makers on a range of issues, include the impacts of natural human-caused events on critical infrastructure, the nexus between cyber and physical infrastructure events and impacts, and the impacts of cyber events of federal networks. The capability sought by OCIA will allow it to provide deeper insights into cyber and infrastructure risk and effectively communicate those insights to decision makers. Sol. No. HSHQDC-17-RFI-000010. DHS S&T, Netherlands’ Agencies Announce Cyber Security Research Projects

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch and two agencies in the Netherlands—the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research and the National Cyber Security Center, have announced an opportunity to provide up to $2.6 million of funding for collaborative cyber security research projects conducted by joint U.S.-Dutch teams. The goal of the initiative is to strengthen R&D collaboration between top cyber security researchers from both countries. The research focus areas are Industrial Control Systems/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and Distributed Denial of Service attacks and the Domain Name System. The partners plan to fund up to five joint research proposals. Half of the funding will be provided by DHS S&T’s Cybersecurity Division through its recent International Broad Agency Announcement and will be available for U.S.-based researchers. The other half of the money will be provided by the Dutch agencies to researchers based in the Netherlands.
