*L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] has retained Goldman Sachs and Stone Key Partners LLC as its financial advisors to explore strategic alternatives. The company announced earlier this year that it would consider strategic alternatives, including a sale of the company (TR2, Feb. 17). However, L-1 says that the end result may not result in a sale or in any other transaction.

*Thermo Fisher Scientific [TMO] has completed its acquisition if Ahura Scientific, giving it new products and design capabilities for handheld Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy instruments used in the identification of chemicals for safety, security and pharmaceutical applications. Ahura had $45 million in sales last year. The company will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Technologies Segment.

*The Transportation Security Administration plans to award a potential three-month, $401,047 contract extension to AOC Solutions to continue providing accounting and financial reporting, policy and procedure development, and accounting expertise support to assist the agency in complying with external oversight. TSA is in the process of recompleting the contract, which is in the proposal evaluation stage. The extension runs from March through April with a one-month option through May.
