L3 Technologies [LLL] has named Al Weggeman as the new president of its L3 Security and Detection Systems Sector, succeeding Tom Ripp, who has been appointed senior vice president for Security Solutions within the Electronic Systems segment. Weggeman joins L3 from The Safariland Group, where he was vice president of Survivability Systems and Global Operations. Ripp, in his new position, will lead the segments strategic expansion strategy across the global security market with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, critical relationships, and collaboration and integrated product solutions. L3 says that Ripp’s expertise in strategic development, M&A and the security market, will be foundational to L3’s security expansion goals.
