Saab said on Wednesday that the Australian Army has ordered deliveries of the Carl-Gustaf M4 anti-tank rifle that will take place in 2020.

The Australian Army is the sixth customer to order this latest iteration of the long-running Carl-Gustaf line, which was launched in 2014. The new version of the gun boasts a lighter weight design, a round counter, and improved safety and intelligence features.

“With the introduction of the M4 version the Australian Army will have a weapon with the latest technology and improved ergonomics, providing an increased tactical flexibility to deal with most situations on the battlefield,” Görgen Johansson, head of Saab business area Dynamics, said.
