Military

Air Force

Maj. Gen. Arthur Lichte nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Lichte is currently serving as director, Plans and Programs, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

Army

National Guard Col. Brett Hanke for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Hanke is currently serving as the commander, Engineer Brigade, 35th Infantry Division, Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Maj. Gen. Thomas Metz nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, III Corps and Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas. He is currently serving as the commanding general, 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized) and Fort Riley, Fort Riley, Kan.

Brig. Gen. Douglas Lute is being assigned as deputy director for Operations, (J-3), U.S. European Command, Germany. Lute is currently assigned as the assistant division commander (Support), 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Navy

Rear Adm. (lower half) Jeffrey Brooks is being assigned as fleet maintenance officer, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Brooks is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for Fleet Maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Gregory Bryant is being assigned as deputy chief of staff for Fleet Maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Bryant is currently serving as deputy director, Fleet Readiness Division, N43B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael Sharp is being assigned as deputy commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. Sharp is currently serving as project executive officer, Mine and Undersea Warfare.

Rear Adm. (lower half) John Butler is being assigned as program executive officer for submarines, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition. Butler is currently serving as deputy commander for undersea technology, SEA-93, commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, and commander, Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

Rear Adm. (lower half) William Timme is being assigned as deputy commander for undersea warfare, SEA-07, commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, and commander, Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Timme is currently serving as program manager, Undersea Weapons Program Office, and program executive officer for submarines, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Garry Hall is being assigned as assistant chief of staff, Operations, Intelligence and Exercises, commander, East Atlantic and commander, Allied Naval Forces North. Hall is currently serving as executive assistant, commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Rear Adm. Walter Massenburg is being assigned as assistant commander for Aviation Depots, AIR-6.0, commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. Massenburg is currently serving as assistant commander for Logistics, Air-3.0, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael Bachmann is being assigned as assistant commander for Logistics, Air-3.0, commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. Bachmann is currently serving as commander, Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, Calif.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Alan Hicks is being assigned as deputy commander for Warfare Systems Engineering, SEA-06, commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C Hicks is currently serving as head, Surface Manpower and Training Requirements Branch, N763B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Bernard McCullough III is being assigned as commander, Navy Region Hawaii and commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific. McCullough is currently serving as deputy director for Operations and Plans, J3, U.S. Joint Forces Command.

Rear Adm. (lower half) David Venlet is being assigned as commander, Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, Calif. Venlet is currently serving as special assistant to the commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Joseph Walsh is being assigned as commander, Submarine Group Two. Walsh is currently serving as chief of staff, commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet.

Defense Related

Employer Support to Guard and Reserve (ESGR) National Chair Allen Weh has appointed fifteen new committee chairs. The new ESGR chairs were sworn Nov. 16 in St. Louis, Mo., by Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs Thomas Hall.

  • The new chairs include:
  • Alaska: New York Air National Guard Chief Warrant Officer Michael Macklusky;
  • Europe: Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Walter Vartan;
  • Iowa: Retired Navy Cmdr. Jack Felderman;
  • Kentucky: Retired Army Reserve Col. Ronald Steensland;
  • Nebraska: Retired Navy Reserve Cmdr. Arlo Bower;
  • Nevada: Dr. Dixie Sue Allsbrook;
  • New Hampshire: Retired Army Maj. Ernest Loomis;
  • North Dakota: Retired Army National Guard Col. Vern Fetch;
  • Ohio: Retired Navy Reserve Capt. Anthony Celebrezze;
  • Oklahoma: Retired Army National Guard Brig. Gen. John Hubbard;
  • Pennsylvania: Retired Army Col. George Duell;
  • South Carolina: Retired Army National Guard Col. Joel Cassidy;
  • Utah: Retired Army National Guard Brig. Gen. James Martin;
  • Virginia: Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Francis Bell Jr.;
  • Washington: Retired Marine Corps Reserve Col. Dr. Leonard Porter.

The fifteen join a team of 55 ESGR committee chairs nationwide, one in each state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and serve as advisors to the National Chair.

Industry

Allied Security

Anna Northcutt named vice president of operations to manage security services for General Growth Properties portfolio in the company’s western region. Northcutt is a former federal agent and corporate security executive.

Alliant Techsystems [ATK]

Thomas Wilson named president, ATK Missile Systems. Wilson, a Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy, retired, had a distinguished 34-year military career capstoned by three years as the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency.

Boeing [BA]

Boeing named David Wang president of Boeing-China. Wang will be responsible for coordinating all company business activities in the People's Republic of China and will be based in Beijing at the Boeing-China headquarters. Wang joins Boeing from General Electric [GE], where he most recently served as chairman and chief executive officer of GE China.

EDO [EDO]

Appointed Dennis Blair and James Roth to the board of directors. Blair was commander-in-chief, U.S. Pacific Command. Roth was chairman, president and CEO of GRC International [GRH].

Named Frank Otto executive vice president. Otto was group vice president of the company’s Integrated Systems and Structures Group.

Eurocopter

Appointed Marc Paganini as CEO of American Eurocopter. Paganini was senior vice president of investor relations at EADS, Eurocopter’s parent company.

Goodrich [GR]

Appointed Jerry LaReau to the newly formed port of vice president, Government Programs, om Washington, D.C. LaReau was president of the company’s Engineered Polymer Poducts business unitin Jacksonville, Fla.

Ed Hart was named president of Engineered Polymer Products. Hart was head of the company’s Advanced MicroMachines team.

Honeywell [HON]

Richard Silverman appointed as its new director of Corporate Media Relations. Prior to joining Honeywell, Silverman spent eight years at Merrill Lynch where he served in a number of leadership roles, including First Vice President and Director, Global Media Relations.

Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI)

Zeev Nahamoni has been appointed vice president of Marketing & Business Development at Israel Aircraft Industries International. Prior to his new appointment, Nahamoni was an IAI Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Electronics Group. His previous positions also included General Manager of IAI’s Tamam Division and Deputy General Manager of IAI’s Electronics Group.

ITT [ITT]

Board of Directors named Ralph Hake a director of the corporation. Hake was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maytag [MYG].

Lockheed Martin [LMT]

Craig Quigley has been appointed vice president, communications and public affairs, for Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems. Quigley most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) at the Pentagon, retiring from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Rear Admiral following a distinguished 27-year career.

Randall Bigum appointed vice president of the company’s strike weapons business. Bigum retired from the Air Force as director, Air Combat Command in 2001, after serving 28 years.

Northrop Grumman [NOC]

Northrop Grumman announced the addition of two members to its board of directors. Charles Noski, retired vice chairman of the board of AT&T, and retired Adm. Charles Larson were elected to Northrop Grumman's board

Textron [TXT]

Steven Loranger has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer, overseeing Textron's manufacturing business units as well as the corporation's Enterprise Excellence and Information Technology functions. Loranger joins Textron as a 21-year veteran of Honeywell, where he most recently served as president and CEO of Honeywell Engines, Systems and Services.
