Army Futures Command’s ground vehicles center said Tuesday it will host an industry day in April with the Next-Generation Combat Vehicle Cross Functional Team to provide updates on the Robotic Combat Vehicle program and areas of future technology investment.

The new Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center is set to hold individual meetings with participating vendors and provide insight on technology investments for programs such as the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV), the Army’s effort to replace its Bradleys.

“Industry Days serve as a forum to provide information on CCDC Ground Vehicle Systems Center’s ground vehicle systems technology focus, as well as ancillary force projection technologies, to include technology roadmaps, planned spending and opportunities for collaboration with industry, academia and other government partners,” officials wrote in a

FedBizOpps notice.

The industry day will take place April 2-3 in Warren, Michigan.

Officials are likely to brief industry on current and future programs, with a focus on requirements for power and energy, mobility, survivability, robotics, autonomy and vehicle electronics.

The event will also include an update on the Robotic Combat Vehicle program. The Army last week announced plans to award prototype contracts for RCV in November (Defense Daily, Feb. 14).

The Army released its draft request for proposals for OMFV earlier this month (Defense Daily, Feb. 1).

The new CCDC Ground Vehicle Systems Center is the former Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), which was renamed when it moved from the Army’s Research, Development and Engineering Center to Futures Command.
