AM General was awarded a firm-fixed-price, multi-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract worth over $428 million by the Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard for new M997A3 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (Humvees) Ambulance Chassis Vehicles for domestic disaster relief efforts, the company said Tuesday.

“We are pleased to continue to support the active and future use of the more than 160,000 [Humvees] currently in service as part of U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Reserves and National Guard fleets,” Chris Vanslager, AM General vice president of programs and business development, said in a statement.

Funding and work location will be determined with each order, the Army said in a contract announcement. The estimated completion date is Sept. 4, 2021.

Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Army Contracting Command in Warren, Mich., Is the contracting activity.

AM General was awarded a $373 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract in July to provide 2,082 Humvees for Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Ukraine, and Tunisia, adding to its backlog, the company said (Defense Daily, July 6).
