The Air Force April 2 issued a pair of contracts totaling $777.2 million in support of the Royal Saudi (Arabia) Air Force F-15SA conversion, according to a Pentagon statement.

The Air Force awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] a $410.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for 95 Sniper advanced targeting pods and spares, 35 compact multiband data links, 70 infrared search and track (IRST) systems and spares, 75 IRST pylons and data, according to a statement. Work is to be completed by Nov. 31, 2017 and Robins AFB, Ga., is the contracting activity, according to a statement.

The service also awarded BAE Systems a $366.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for 70 Digital Electronic Warfare Systems (DEWS)/Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS) and spares, three DEWS/CMWS test stations, associated spares and data, according to a Pentagon statement. Location of the performance is Nashua, N.H., and work is also to be completed by Nov. 31, 2018, according to a statement. Robins is also the contracting activity, according to a statement.

The Royal Saudi F-15SA conversion is an Air Force effort to supply Saudi Arabia with 84 of its own advanced variant of the F-15 as well as systems and munitions. The service in mid-March awarded Boeing [BA] an $11.4 billion firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time-and-materials contract action for development and procurement efforts.

The White House signed off on an agreement Dec. 29 valued at $29.4 billion for the United States to provide Saudi Arabia with 84 new aircraft and the modernization of 70 aircraft as well as munitions, spare parts, training, maintenance and logistics (Defense Daily, March 12).
