The Air Force awarded TASC, Inc., an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Consultant, Advisory and Technical Services (CATS) contract on Feb. 2 to support the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) within the continental United States and its territories, according to a company statement.

The one-year contract has four one-year options and a ceiling value of $985 million for all awardees, according to the statement. Because it is an ID/IQ contract, no task orders have been issued and no work has been performed on it, according to John Graves, TASC’s program manager for CATS.

TASC’s partners on this contract are: Signature Performance, Inc.; Eagle Applied Sciences, LLC, Conceptional MindWorks, Inc.; Mystikal Solutions, LLC; CIRE Business Solutions, LLC; IMS Government Solutions, Inc; Prairie Quest and SenPro

“Our goal is to ensure the Air Force Medical Service has the right mix of highly-technical expertise and management experience for its health care services and operations,” said John Brennan, vice president of TASC’s Air Force business unit, in a statement. “With TASC’s support, the AFMS can provide the capabilities necessary to optimize its health care strategy in the most cost-efficient manner.”

Graves said in a telephone interview with Defense Daily Friday the Air Force’s health care strategy is to centralize and streamline the contract process.

The other 13 companies eligible to bid on individual task orders through the CATS contract are in two categories: large (called “full and open”) and small business. In the full and open category: CACI-Information Services Support, Inc. [CACI]; Lockheed Martin [LMT]; Deloitte Consulting LLP; ASM Research; Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH]; Serco Inc.; TASC and Evolvent Technologies, Inc.

In the small business category: ERP Scientific Partners, LLC; Ellumen, Inc.; Longview CIO Group, LLC; Decypher Technologies, Ltd.; Technologies, Automation and Management, Inc.

Graves said TASC has previously received an AFMS contract before, an Aviation Corneal Refractive Surgery III (A-CRS) contract for critical research and optometric support. He said they also received a contract for LASIK Altitude Study, which he said was to assess visual skills, such as color vision and depth perception, of those who had refractive surgery.
