The Air Force on Tuesday awarded Boeing [BA] a fixed-price contract worth as much as $3.2 billion for Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) tail kits, according to a Defense Department statement.

The contract is a fixed-price, incentive-firm, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract modification to a previously awarded contract. The undefinitized contract action was awarded on Oct. 30, 2014, at a maximum amount of $1.7 billion. That amount has since increased by $1.5 billion due to warfighter demand and to replenish depleted inventories.

Work is expected to complete by Sept. 29, 2020. This contract involves foreign military sales (FMS). Boeing develops JDAM.
